After 50 sessions, where patients participated in Feldenkrais Method-based movement, “the treated group showed improvement in Quality of Life scores [P = .004] as well as a reduction in the level of depression [P = .05] compared with the control group”. WHY _ A P-value represents the probability of obtaining a result equally as extreme as the one observed in sample data. Here's the other dancer in the tango: null hypothesis. When true, it represents no difference between groups (aka, no change or positive results). In this study, a P-value of .05 correlates to at least 23 percent confidence, commonly up to 50 percent confidence. IN CONCLUSION _ The study's authors suggest Feldenkrais Method- based movement can improve the quality of lives of people with Parkinson's Disease. In a broader sense, the study also illustrates the importance of any practice that promotes wellness within this particular group.
